Future Schedule March 22-23 GS+SL,-March 29,30,31 2GS 1 SL,-April 3-5 British Columbia (Must Qualify) or -April 5+6 SL, April 12 + 13 GS + SL...Then take a break, before Canada, or New Zeland?? March 1st Maine Meredith Langley GS Sunday River 1st PLACE What a beautiful day for a race!! Does it get any better than Sunday River, Blue sky, and a nice course over Monday Morning. Kamden stayed a couple days to check out Gould Academy while visiting in Maine. With NO Race starts before J/O's this was a great Opportunity for Quality practice Feb 23rd Kamden Wins #1 Overall J-3 Racer in NH. Feb 22 MAINE SL Shawnee Kamden took advantage of a day off and went over to Maine for a sweet SL race. Well set, looonnngggg course and Kamden put 2 great runs together. 2nd Bump Heldman, 3rd Taylor Powell, 4th Scott Carpenter and 5th Brian Oneil.  Feb16th Toni Buttinger SL Gunstock Toni Buttinger SL Results As usual Gunstock Ski Area put on a fantastic race...HUNDREDS of 3-4-5's on a very cold day. Kamden sailed through the first race course to open up a 1.3 second lead and held on for a 2 run win. The 2nd course (set by Tom Barbeau) was a WORLD CUP type set with lots of turns and transitions. Nate Bloomfield skied a fantastic 2nd run as did Kamden outdistancing the remaining field by a remarkable 3.5 seconds! The crowds cattle calls showed their appreciation for the duo laying down 2 GREAT second RUNS! Kamden recieves the Stunning Trophy bottom right, and his name is engraved on the World Cup Trophy which remains at GUNSTOCK Ski Club with all the previous winners names on it! I think Kamden is the 20th winner(20th name engraved) of the coveted award. This years Female winner...Erin Fucigna she came back from 1.5 back to take todays win. Kudo's to all! Feb 9th 2003 Regional GS Qualifier What a race, Regional GS Qulaifier at WatervilleValley, GS Results Kamden and Greg Plate put on a two man show on the LOOOONNNGG course. Run 1 saw Kamden win by .35 seconds on the tight turny course. Race/Run #2 saw an ALL OUT down the hill GS that had onlookers on the edge of their seat all day. From the TOP of World Cup Kamden 58.27 and Greg 58.33! You had to be there to beleive it! Many SPECTACULAR WIPE OUTS!! 2-3 in the fences, 1 hit the last gate and finish entrance and that was the GIRLS before the guys came down!! All are ok and sore!! Feb 6th After a 7hour boot fitting day on Saturday,(Tecnica Rep Derek ...Kristina Koznicks personal boot fitter/specialist)and Kyle H came to WV to help Kamden get the best fit!! They left exhausted, and they now have a NEW RECORD HOLDER for the LONGEST TIME ever spent on one racer! Results...tomorrow at the GS Qualifier...See above...HEY DEREK and Kyle, THANK YOU!! Gus Pitou GS Results Feb 2nd GUS PITOUS GS Gunstock NH, Gunstock runs one of the Best events anywhere, the Pitou is one of the MOST POPULAR races in the EAST for J-3-4-5's with nearly 300 racers in attendance Kamden ran #266 finishing first in both runs as Ben Peters (GSC) and August Felix (BBTS) each finsihed 2nd in a run. Overall Kamden, Ben, August..Hundreds more! Jan 31 2003 Kamden finishes 1st and 3rd in two tightly contested SG's at Attitash on Friday!! Winning the first run by only .05 seconds over Owen Carey-Hatch 2nd both runs, and Grag Plate who finished 3rd first run and won the second run!!  Kamden Wins J-3 Elite SL in Bode Fashion!! SL Champion and BiB-O Award SL Champion and BiB-O Award Lake Placid NY, 1/26/03 Day 2 SL, With over 75 of the Top J-3 Men in the USA in attendance, Kamden started the race from 6th to last with a fairly bad bib draw. The course was rough with waist deep holes when kamden left the gate, (Heard his Dad lost a bet..when Kamden even finished) but finish he did moving up into the top 15 by placing a very respectable 10th after the first run, yet still 2.2 seconds(Better said 2 months and 2 days off the leader)!! With reverse Top 15 Kamden was now 6th out of the gate, and smoked the run with a 46.55 to win the Run, erasing the 2.2 deficit, winning the Race (by .89 seconds) and earning the *BiB-O award as well.(*Bib-O,the racer who had the worst bib draw and moved furthest up in the final standings) Easily Kamden's BIGGEST win of his Career so far...lets hope it keeps going. Day 1 Kamden with a good Bib draw made some small mistakes in a very good run which left him in 6th after the first run....2nd Run while GOING 4 It Kamden went down about 5 gates from the finish at the knarly headwall which is in easy view of the finish line. In fact 4 of the top 7 fell while going for the gold...(U should have seen Greg Plates wipe out!) Kamden had only one chance on Saturday when he was #1 for the boys out of the gate and fell about 300' from the finish. The next day he was DFL at the start which is a kiss of death to any racer with 180 top skiers in attendance at any level. What remains nice....is there is always next weekend in ski racing! LOL. There were alot of great runs put in by many racers....Well just click and see for yourself, and the girls....you were lucky this weekend IF you didn't get GIRLED!! NH Dan Cardillo Race for Excellence, and Jan 1st Qualifier GS 12/29/2002 and 01/01/2003 NH Results Sorry Link outdated... WOW Skiing sure can be like NE Weather!! Dan Cardillo GS Kamden finished 2nd to Greg Plate who was sure fun to watch as he layed it all out to win by .01 seconds COMBINED time!! Jan 1st Qualifier saw Kamden finish 3rd and 4th while Greg Plate skied really well winning in grand fashion. The Reps and J-1+2's will all tell you it's a long way to the top from a J-3 position!! seems they could be right....Next test....Okemo with the winner going to Topolino!! Good luck Sunday River, Elite Camp With 1 day of SL training and 1 race day of 3 runs each alot of great ski racing was happening at Sunday River. Kamden did well winning 3 runs in SL and his leg is getting better. Day 3 + 4 was GS training then 3 GS runs, again Kamden sked well this weekend winning 3 very close runs with alot of boys knocking on the door. What a weekend of great weather!! Dec 14-17th Elite J-3 SL and GS at Sunday River Still healing from the below injuries, Kamden had his first MAJOR Event. With most of the TOP J-3 Boys and girls in attendance, kamden posted the Fastest times in each of the 3 runs held at Sunday River. The first day saw the athletes training SL with 3 sweet runs on Sunday. Followed by a day of GS training and 3 runs of GS. No doubt it's early, and these runs DON'T do anything other than see IF you are on track or in need of work. It was nice to see considering Kamden doesn't normally get on snow much before January let alone have to turn up the volume against the BEST IN THE EAST!! Some great racing by all...but lets remember...this is Kamdens page!! Next race Dec 28+29th time Trials and then a Qualifier at Waterville Valley Jan 1st. Check back!! |

 The season has started slowly!! Nov 10th or so! Only MINUTES before kamden was to leave Maine, and go to Waterville Valley Academy to begin skiing and training, he went over backwards pulling a wheelie on his dirtbike, in front of the house on the tar, at about 30mph!! We figure it will be Christmas before the hole in his knee heals!! Looks like it was scun off to the bone!! |
